The Red Tent by Anita Diamant

The Red Tent.jpg

The Red Tent: Jewish mythology to some and biblical fantasy to others. It is unequivocally a beautiful novel. It compresses time and themes through generations.

What we love: Getting a peek into the historical red tent. Being transported to another point in time through Anita's writing. The Red Tent’s non-dizzying chronology is meant to weave a common thread through the story of Dinah and womanhood over time, and it does so beautifully.

Our fave part? The different characters' depth and personalities that help form the main character's persona. It's a beautiful escape into a past with challenges not too different from today.
